Fine. I mean, it took hearing it in actual conversation a few times to get used to it not sounding totally weird. But it does have an actual utility in communication. I mean it’s a lot easier than saying “people who identify as the gender they were born as”.
If you don’t like it it’s probably because the idea of transgender people - or the concept that those people are an acceptable subset of society - is something that you struggle with. I don’t blame anyone if they feel that way. You can’t blame how you were raised. But you should always try and understand how somebody feels.
Don’t let anyone make you feel bad for not agreeing with them over social issue. But more importantly, don’t let that stop you from trying to understand them yourself. And when you do, 99% of the time you come to understand things that once made you feel uncomfortable.
